On Sunday May 25, 1947 Archie and Hattie Smith from Shreveport, Louisiana welcomed their 17th child. A beautiful baby girl they name her Willie Mae. Giving her the nick name Mae Mae.

Mom accepted Christ at an early age. Mom enjoyed reading the bible to her mom. Mom attended school in Shreveport, LA. After moving to Dallas, Texas in 1966 mom worked several jobs. Mom attended El Centro for 1 year. Mom obtained nursing training to care for the elderly. For over 20 years Mom cared for several elderly patients. After mom favorite patient Fannie Mae went to be with the Lord mom decided it was time for a change. In 1993 mom became a Security Guard where she moved up to lieutenant very quickly. Mom work as a Security Guard until 11/30/2020.

Mom attended House of Prayer for All People before moving out of the area. Mom attended Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church where she obtained her Missionary certification.

Mom loved spending time with family and friends. Football was her favorite sport (Go Cowboys).

Mom was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and Aunt who will truly be missed.

God sent the angels of Mercy for Mom on Monday, March 8, 2021 @ 1:40 P.M. at T Boone Pickens Hospice Faith Presbyterian with her daughter Pam by her side.

Preceded her in death: Parents: Archie and Hattie Smith, Brothers: Eddie, Ernest, Emanuel, and Samuel, Sister: Irma (Lady), Vera, Minnie, and Ella (Easter), Daughter: Rhonda Evette Owens-Jones, Sons: Rodney Earl Owens and Robert Charles Owens

Willie Mae leaves to cherish her precious memories, Brother: Walter Smith (Hazel), Daughter: Pamela Frett, Son: John Lee Owens Jr, Grandchildren: Jonathan Ant’Juan Smith-Burrell, Chazery Kitell Jones, David Earl Barnes Jr., Rikel Nisha Owine,.Jonlyncia Cherice Owens, De’Carrus Le’Charles Barnes and Quston Marie Jones, Great Grandchildren: LaNae Booker, Alanah Owens, Journee Owine, Ja’Niya Booker, Skyler Williams, Ayonna Bellard and Kameron Williams, God daughter and family: Irene Love (Derek) Daughter: Bobby, Sons: Gerome and Danny, Extended family B Muhammed, Holland Miracle Lang, Kameelah Muhammed, Tasharae Gardner Son: Zaiden Daughter: Ziyah, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
