Vera Estelle “Abercrumbia, daughter of the late Ozie and Augusta Cole Abercrumbia
was born April 29, 1935 in Jonesville, Harrison County Texas. At an early age, she united
with Union Chapel Baptist Church of Waskom, Texas. She attended the Harrison County
Vera united in marriage to Dervie Lester in Waskom Texas
To this union two children were born. Upon moving to Dallas, she united in marriage with Louis Flanagan. To this union
one child was born. She later united in marriage to Peter Parson. No children were born of
this union. She joined Dixon Street Baptist Church and eventually moved her membership
to Riverside Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Lydia Circle.
Vera was a quiet, gentle woman who loved watching her old western movies, Steve Harvey
and the Dallas Mavericks. She would be so upset when they were losing.
Vera Parson departed this life on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at Cheyenne Medical
Lodge. She leaves to cherish her memory: One daughter; Cheryl Flanagan Gilbert (Zach),
One grandson; Branon Gilbert, Dallas, Texas. One great granddaughter; Eulicia MoNae
Cooper of Texarkana, Texas; several stepsisters stepbrothers nieces nephews, other
relative and friends.
One daughter, Barbara Lester Hart one son David Lester one grandson Dedric Cooper,
two sisters Dorothy Brown, Doris Devers, four brothers, Ozie Abercrumbia Jr., John
Abercrumbia, Benny Abercrumbia, and Melvin Abercrumbia, preceded her in death.
