Niquito (Nick) Loftis

December 10, 1972 ~ October 25, 2021 (age 48)

Obituary

Niquito “Nick” Vanchai Loftis, beloved husband, passed away on October 25, 2021, at age 48.

Nick was born on December 10, 1972, in Dallas, Texas. He attended Spruce High School and graduated in May 1993. He attended Eastfield College and took Criminal Justice classes.

Nick started working at Dr. Pepper in Irving in January 2000 and received a 20-year award in January 2020. He worked in the warehouse, as a merchandiser, in the bulk department, and most recently in transport.

Beyond work, Nick loved the Dallas Cowboys and talking football with anyone who shared his love of them. Pizza and cargo shorts were the only other things he loved more than the Cowboys. He was the type of person who liked to sit back and observe those around him. He was generous towards his family and friends, always bringing sodas and water to gatherings. He also made sure he helped all the kids in the family get into extracurricular activities and sports.

In December 2012, he married Amy McDonald, and they cruised all over the Caribbean as well as Spain, Italy, and France over the next several years.  They also made trips to Hawaii, Arizona, New York, and California.

Nick is preceded in death by his grandmother Nezelia Williams and his father Larry Jackson. He is survived by his wife Amy McDonald Loftis; his step-daughter Way-Ne Hampton and her children; his mother Glenda Young; his brother Devordrick Huckaby and his wife Regina; his brother Anthony Loftis; his aunt Barbara “Queenie” Loftis; his aunt Sharon “Bay” King and her husband Joe; and numerous cousins and other family members. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Beatrice “Sookie” Booker and aunt Linda Jackson. Nick leaves behind many other beloved friends and relatives.

Amy and Way-Ne would like to invite everyone to pay their last respects at services to be held Monday, November 1, at Lincoln Funerals & Memorial Park, 8100 Fireside Drive in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be from 9 - 10 am and the funeral service will be at 10 am.
