ROZELL MASTERS was born on September 25, 1926, to the parentage of
Robert Masters and Lenora Johnson in Marlin, Texas.
At fifteen years old, Rozell left Marlin to enlist in the United States Navy in
1942, where he bravely served during World War II, the Pearl Harbor
bombing, and ultimately honorably discharged.
Rozell was employed at Ryder Airline Services, which later became Ryder
Aviall, as a Quality Control Engine Inspector for 42 years at the Love Field
Mr. Masters married the love of his life, Hazel Masters for more than 53
years. Unto this union was the blessing of four devoted sons.
In 1968, he joined the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained
as a deacon, serving God and his church family until this present time.
Rozell gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 with an
honorary 6 Blue Angel Navy aircraft flyover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hazel Masters, 2
brothers, Hardy Masters and Clarence Masters, one son, Robert Earl Mims
Sr., 2 grandsons, Robert Jr. and Kendrick Masters.
Rozell leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Stanley, Kenneth (Edna),
Rodney, one sister, Lenora Johnson, one brother, Charles Masters, a host of
grandchildren, great grandchildren , great great grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends that will hold “Pop” in their hearts forever!
