Obituary

Brother Milton Earl Tyler, 67, of Dallas, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021. He was born on Tuesday, January 12, 1954, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to the parentage of John Earl Tyler, Jr. and Mary Ruth Tyler. Milton was born and raised in the historical Arlington Park Estates Community and attended Dallas Public Schools later obtaining his high school equivalency diploma. He loved music and was proficient in many instruments.

At an early age, he united with New Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas under the pastorage of Rev. I.B. Butler, presently Pastor Rev. Terry E. Tyler. He was an active member of the choir some of his leading songs were “I’m So Satisfied”, “So Much to Be Grateful For”, “God Is”, duet’s “I Love You Lord” and “Potter’s House”. Milton loved the Lord.

Bro. Milton eventually, retired from Advo, Inc.

He is preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Houston-Tyler, father John Earl Tyler Jr., and brother Wilbert Vern Tyler.

Bro. Milton leaves to cherish his memories, his loving mother, Mary Ruth Tyler; son, Rev. Derrick Gray((Tamiko); grandchildren, Kennedy Gray, Kandance Gray, and Keirson Gray; step-daughter, Sheri L. Shofner; three sisters, Sandra Tyler-Rimpson, Gloria Tyler-Wardsworth, and Se-Gwen Tyler; two brothers, Don S. Tyler and Kenneth B. Tyler; Sister-in-law, Doris M. Tyler, god-sister, Faith Scott; two aunts, Georgia Tyler (California) and Velma Cowling (Jefferson, Texas); one uncle, Ronald Mathis (Beaumont, Texas); nephews, Edward D. Tyler (Tracey); Keith D. Smith (Tammie), John A. Rimpson, Lerone Tyler, James Cooks; nieces, Mashonda R. Grisby, Jessica Tyler, Mary Wardsworth; plus a wonderful host of other relatives and friends.
