Lashonda Battiste- Eniayewu

March 8, 1972 — October 31, 2021

Dallas, Texas

Mrs. Lashonda Denise Battiste-Eniayewu was born on March 08, 1972 to Ruthie Battie and Charles Ross in Dallas, Tx. She was the first of 6 children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a strong woman of God and very God fearing. She was a very smart and educated woman. She always had a plan for any and everything.

Lashonda leaves behind to cherish her life: *Mother- Ruthie Battie.

*Her husband- Oluseyi Eniayewu

*Her three daughters- Cierra Battie, Marissa Woods and Taylor Wallace

*Her 8 grandchildren-Christian Frazier, Steven Davis Jr., Jelise Battie, Joseph Brickley, Mason Wallace, Londyn Woods, Gianna Woods and Hayden Wallace.

*Siblings- Quincy Starks(brother), Sophia Battie(sister), Christopher Battie(brother), Crystal Battie(sister) and Emberly Taylor(sister).

*A host of nieces and nephews and extended family.

Lashonda loved her kids dearly but it was those grandkids who stole her heart. She loved spending her quality time with her grandkids.

Lashonda enjoyed many things, but she enjoyed traveling and church the most. Church was number one. She enjoyed all branches of church: Serving in the community, Saturday and Sunday worship service, Bible study and much more. She was proud within her Catholic religion. She also loved praying with her rosary  in which she collected a lot of those over the years.

She had many interests. Dining, traveling, socializing, and African culture were at the top of her list. She has traveled a lot of places. She has been to a lot of states in the US and has even traveled out of the country a few times. In 2013 she traveled to Lagos, Nigeria which is where her and Oluseyi Eniayewu got married. She had been to Africa and Egypt prior to that as well.

Lashonda was a very bright woman. She had a Bachelors of Science in business administration degree and was working on her Masters. She was always in great spirits and won people over with her beautiful cheesy smile and kind heart. She was very vibrant and positive. She always had an entrepreneur mindset. She was always willing to help anyone in anyway that she could. She would give the clothes off of her back to anyone that was in need, she would allow anyone in need of a place to stay into her home without anything in return.

God's Garden

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, ‘Peace bethine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
