Gloria Dean Pointer was born August 8, 1940 to Bishop Edgar Thomas and Earnestine Thomas in Dallas, Texas.
Gloria was born into a Christian home, she became a Missionary of the gospel under her father Bishop Edgar Thomas in his ministry at Miracle Revival Center and went on to support and carry the gospel and her strong belief of healing with other ministries. In her personal life, she married Charles Streat, Sr. though this union they had four beautiful children.
She was a strong mother that dedicated herself to rearing her children and instilled strong Christian beliefs. Gloria enjoyed her two grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She never missed giving gifts to her children and grandchildren for Christmas. She personally wrapped every gift!
Gloria never met a stranger and was always willing to help whether by feeding the hungry, visiting the sick and shut-in, praying and ministering to those in need. She opened her home as a shelter to those that needed it. If you were blessed to know Gloria, you witnessed her speaking truth and unafraid to be an enlightenment.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Earnestine, siblings Yvonne, James, Weldon, her husband Jessie Pointer and her beloved son, Charles Streat, Jr.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: Her siblings Helen Dorsey (Nathaniel), Vermia, Robert, Rosemary, Rebecca and Joanna; her children, Velita Streat, Paula McLeod (Bruce) and Lisa Streat; her grandchildren, Delicia Price (Vernon), Brenton Harding; Great-grandchildren, Sydney Price, Austin Price and Mionni Harding; her nieces and nephew, Debra, Tiffany, Cynthia, Kayla, Sharon, Bridget, Erika, Sabra, Alicia, Tanya, Simone, Aundre and a host of extended family and friends.
