Bernadine Willis

Bernadine Willis was born August 16, 1936 in San Angelo, TX to Gladys Scott Morris and Kelley Scott SR. She left San Angelo and moved to Dallas, TX where she began working at Dallas Linen Services. After that she became a nurse’s aide at Baylor Hospital. She finally retired at St. Paul Medical Center in 1992 as a Supervisor in the Laundry Services.

At a young age she married Curtis Holloway, and, in that union, she had Glenda Holloway & Janita Holloway. She later married Sammie Willis Jr. and had 3 more children Charles Holloway, Willie Lee Holloway, Angela Holloway. She also raised a special daughter Doris McKnight.

She was a God-fearing woman who accepted Christ at an early age. Her Love of God was ever present in the raising and upbringing of her grandchildren. She was influential in her church and taught Sunday School for many years. During her time here, she was a beacon of light & guidance. She could be called upon for solace and prayers and advice to others. Her strength and character were unwavering and steadfast. She was a magnanimous woman who continued to raise and care for children well into her 70’s. She was a faithful member of Charisma C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Billy G. Lee.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Scott Morris, her father Kelley Scott SR., her husband Sammie Willis JR., her children: Glenda Faye Holloway, Charles Henry Holloway, Angela Annette Holloway, 6 sisters: Dorothy Jean Scott, Hazel M. Scott, Norma Jean Edwards, Birdie Mae Scott, Mary Scott Kelley, Mattie Vera Scott, and 3 brothers: Kelly Scott JR, Kelley W. Scott, ad W.A. Scott.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters: Janita Holloway, Doris McKnight, her son: Willie Lee Holloway. Also, her 14 grandchildren, her 35 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, her sister in Christ Joyce Young and her wonderful church family.
