Life Reflections: Willie Fay Hicks was born October 30, 1929, to Mary and Ephram Abrams. Willie Fay attended the Campti, LA school district and was a graduate of Southern Bible Institute College. Willie Fay was a homemaker and cook who raised and helped care for many children.Willie Fay dedicated her time and talents to the church, faithfully serving at Rose Chapel on the usher board and in the children’s ministry. Willie later joined Pleasant Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was honored as one of the Mothers of the Church. Her presence touched many lives and left a legacy within the church community. Willie Fay married Verriel Hicks in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Ephram Abrams; her husband, Verriel Hicks; her granddaughter, Antoinette Evans and five great- great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Nona Drake (Robert); son Rev.Charles Hicks (Kelly); bonus mom to, Dorthy, Louise, Julia, Verriel Hicks Jr. ; granddaughter, Stephanie Richardson (Joel); and grandson, Raymond Franklin (Kimberly). She leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild, along with a host of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
