Obituary

Virginia Stinnett Farris was born to Ethel Rhodes and Perry Mason Stinnett on July 23, 1945 in Van Alstyne, Texas. She attended Washington Elementary Colored School and was a straight A student.

Virginia moved to Dallas, Texas at the age of twelve and attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar Elementary and at the age of thirteen she attended James Madison High School, graduating in 1963. After graduating high school, she attended Wilson Junior College in Chicago Illinois. Upon graduating college Virginia married and was blessed with three boys who were affectionately known as the BAD Boys (Boom, Andre and Dinky).

Virginia was baptized into Christ at Cedar Crest Church of Christ in Oak Cliff, Texas, she then transferred her membership to Mountain View Church of Christ, finally settling at Clark Road Church of Christ, where she worked as a director of youth groups and taught ladies Bible class.

Two of the highlights of her life were her grandchildren Alexis, James, DeAndre and her two Godchildren Tisha Johnson and John Gowans the third.

Her motto in life was, “What you eat don’t make me sh….boo-boo” (wink).

Virginia leaves to cherish her children: Luther Jr., Andre, Heath (Mickey)

Three grandchildren: Alexis, James, DeAndre

Two Godchildren: Tisha and John

One brother: Lt. Col. Dr. Robert Stinnett

Four Grand Godchildren: Jaxson, Caiden, John the 4th and Logan

A heap of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by six sisters: Big Mary, Little Mary, Bobbie, Gloria, Carolyn, Jean

Three brothers: Albert Jr., James, Joel
