Obituary

Sharian Denise Odell -Luckett, was the second of five children born to the union of Daisy Harris-Odell and Samuel Odell, Jr. on March 1, 1954. She fashioned a demure, focused and creative spirit as a child that later manifested into the thought provoking, logical thinking, seamstress, fashion designer, baker and gardener that we celebrate on today.

Sharian often reflected on her childhood and how she sat at her mothers feet under a pedal pumping sewing machine collecting the scraps from her mother?s work to create fashions for her Barbie dolls. In grade school she excelled academically and artistically, winning spelling bees, science fairs and art shows.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics was the foundation for her professional career. She gained employment October 1, 1975 at Southwestern Bell/AT&T, holding various management positions, retiring after 36 years. She resided in Kansas City, Mo., Saint Louis Mo., and Dallas, Tx. while employed with AT&T.

Aden Luckett III, offered his hand in marriage in 1979 and she accepted. As a symbol of their love, Aden Luckett IV was born in 1982.

The Lucketts have been members of First Baptist of Hamilton Park in Richardson, Texas for more than 10 years. They have been a witness of God?s goodness and glory to co-workers, neighbors, family and friends. We have seen Sharian?s purpose unfold through active service at First Baptist?s Scholarship Ministry. In her personal ministry she shared greeting cards, words of encouragement, fresh baked home-made cookies, herbs from her gardens, hand-made ornaments and angels and so much more.

She is preceded to glory by her mother, Daisy Odell; brother, Byron Odell; father, Samuel Odell, Jr.; nephew, Byron Odell, Jr.

Sharian leaves a legacy of creativity and structure, joy and laughter, an appreciation of nature and it?s creator; God to her husband, Aden Luckett III; son, Aden Luckett IV; mother-in-law, Annie Luckett; brothers, Kelvin Odell(Deborah); Dwight Luckett (Marie) and Paul Luckett (Karen); sisters; Valeria Odell-Whitaker; Desiree Odell-Collins (Gerald); Laura Murrary-Odell; nephews, Carlos Odell(Toya), Johnathan Luckett, Kornelious Mobley, Ryan Whitaker, Jordan Dunn, Gerald Collins, Jr., Desmond Collins, D?Marcus Odell, Justin Odell, Robert House, Cristiano House; nieces, Latricia House (Robert)and Daisya Collins and treasured aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
