Renee M. Barlow-Viney departed this life on April 20, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 22, 1956, she was the youngest daughter of Edward J. Barlow and Exelene Barlow. From an early age, Renee came to know Christ, shaping her life with faith, love, and devotion. She was celebrated for her vibrant personality, her deep love for her family, and her unwavering dedication to those she cared about.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974, where she formed lifelong friendships that enriched her life. On November 24, 1988, Renee married her soulmate, Charles M. Viney Sr., and together they built a loving home and were blessed with two sons, Charles M. Viney Jr. and Carlos D. Viney. Charles passed away on June 3, 1996, leaving Renee with treasured memories of their time together. She also embraced her role as a stepmother, cultivating meaningful relationships with her stepchildren.
Renee retired from Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where her dedication and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered during her 25 years of service. Her granddaughter, Chelsea McCardell, held a special place in her heart, and Renee cherished every moment spent with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Exelene Barlow; her sister, Virgie M. Medrano; her brothers, Rufus L. Redmon Sr. and Eddie J. Barlow; and her beloved husband, Charles.
Renee leaves behind her sons, Charles M. Viney Jr. and Carlos Viney; her granddaughter, Chelsea; her sisters, Atomizer G. Barlow-Hershel and Marlene F. Redmon-Russell; her beloved stepchildren, Denise Davis, Tanya Viney-Thomas, Valeria Viney, Tyrone Viney, and Vickie Viney; and an immeasurable host of cherished nieces and nephews, related by blood and given to her by God and the community she so loved. Her dear ones, whom she grew up with and helped raise, will forever honor her joyful and happy memory.
A celebration of Renee’s life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Funeral Home, 8100 Fireside Dr., Dallas, TX 75217, where family and friends will gather to pay tribute to her remarkable journey.
