Milton L. Berry, a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Milton was born on June 3, 1948, to Juanita Berry and Jon Berry in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended school in Gary, Indiana, and later enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965.
Milton lived a life defined by kindness, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family. His warm smile, steady guidance, and generous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He dedicated many years of his life to Dresser Inc. as a welder. His passions included working on cars, repairing homes, and helping family and friends whenever he was needed. Milton was admired for his strong work ethic, gentle nature, and willingness to help others without hesitation.
Milton cherished his role as a husband and took great pride in the family he and his spouse, JoAnn Berry, built together. As a father and grandfather, he was a source of wisdom, humor, and unconditional love. He remained a loyal and supportive brother throughout his life and was a true friend to many—always willing to lend a hand or offer a listening ear.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, JoAnn Berry; his son, Rodney Berry (LaShun); his daughters, Jeniece Paige (Sherman), Shamiko Crawford, and Lakisha Funck; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his honorary daughter, Monique Washington, and her family. Milton also leaves behind four brothers and five sisters, along with loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a legacy of love, integrity, and compassion.
Milton is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Shephard; his father, Jon Berry; his mother-in-law, Mary D. Smith; and his son-in-law and best friend, Franklin D. Crawford.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he shaped will continue to inspire all who knew him.
The Berry family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Milton’s life and honoring the impact he made on every heart he touched.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories we shared, and the love Milton brought into our lives. His legacy will live on in the stories we tell, the lessons he taught, and the love he left behind.
