Mary Ruth Tunstle was born May 19,1928 in Tyler, Texas, to the late Fannie Mae Ware and Robert Powell. She married the late Willie James Tunstle & moved to Dallas, Texas.
Mary Ruth Tunstle was a devoted woman of God, Mary Ruth was a long-standing and faithful member of True Believers Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the choir. She served her church and community with humility and strength, embodying the very essence of a Proverbs 31 woman — clothed in dignity, filled with wisdom, and guided by grace.
Her life was a reflection of unwavering faith, selfless service, and unconditional love. She was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother — the matriarch of a beautiful and growing legacy.
Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Mae Ware and Robert Powell, as well as her husband, Willie James Tunstle.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two devoted daughters Wilean Stanley (Larry Stanley Sr) and Mary Elizabeth Finley, eleven grandchildren (Eddie Finley Jr, Simone Stanley, Michelle Finley , Kelvin Finley Sr, Larry Stanley Jr., Tony Finley , Tonija Finley, Byron Stanley (Elise Stanley), Cheryl Finley , Angela Stanley, Derrick Stanley (Jessica Stanley) , 26 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren — and a host of cousins and other relatives of whom are a testament to her love and guidance.
Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
