Lorine Polk was born on August 8, 1958, in Greenville, Texas, to James Cook and Maudine Washington. She was raised and educated in Dallas, Texas, where she built a life centered on love, family, and connection.
Lorine was a devoted mother and grandmother whose kindness touched everyone she met. She had a gentle, caring spirit and a gift for making others feel seen and valued. Whether sharing laughter, offering a listening ear, or simply spending time together, Lorine made every moment meaningful. To know her was to feel truly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cook and Maudine Washington; her beloved son, Tony Polk; her brother, Ray Cook; her nephew, LaDarrion Cook; and her great-nephews, Ophfesious Fields Jr. and Demontre Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Lisa Polk (Arion); her brother, Jerry Fisher (Cheryl); her sister, Dorothy Fields; her treasured grandchildren, Joriona, Zikyia, Destiny, Gabrain, and Gavin; her nieces, Latonya, Edshonda, Tameka, and Karen; her nephews, Jonathan and Ophfesious Sr.; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Lorine’s warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
