Lionel Churchill

August 15, 1932 — October 21, 2023

Dallas

Lionel Churchill was born on August 15, 1932 to Katherine Bradley Jones and Pete Churchill.  He received his formal education from Booker T. Washington High School, Dallas, Texas.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child and renewed his faith at Agape Baptist Church and later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Lionel Churchill was united in holy matrimony to Frances Ann Robinson on September 30, 1950.  Their union was blessed with five daughters.

Lionel Churchill worked in the real estate title insurance starting at the age of 18 until his retirement at 72 years old.

Lionel Churchill was a staunch supporter of his community and southern Dallas.  He was the first black board member of Wilmer Hutchins ISD, serving several terms.

His joy in life, other than his high school sweetheart, was spending time with his children, grandchildren and traveling, especially road trips.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances; daughter, Linda Churchill; mother, Katherine Jones; father, Pete Churchill; sister, Helen White; and stepfather, Spencer Jones.

He leaves to cherish his beloved memory daughters, Rosalind Green, Patsy Robinson, Kathryn Churchill, and Gwendolyn Churchill-Scott; grandchildren, Marc Walton, Teresa Churchill-Morgan, Linda Green, Darrin Green, Jeremy Scott; great grandchildren, Nikal Morgan, Chasity Morgan, Alexis Sneed, and Kailen Wafer; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that were dear to him.
