Lillian Laverne Walker, age 97, of Dallas, Texas, peacefully departed this life on May 10, 2026. She was born on February 24, 1929, to the late Herbert Williams Sr. and Lee’Virgil Collins. Lillian was a lifelong and faithful member of Warren Avenue Christian Church, where she worshipped throughout her life. Her faith, compassion, and quiet strength guided the way she cared for others and lived each day. Known for being caring, kind, patient, and selfless, Lillian devoted much of her life to raising and nurturing children, not only within her own family but also those who needed love, guidance, and support. Her home and heart were always open to others, and her presence brought comfort to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Williams Sr. and Lee’Virgil Collins; her brother, Herbert Williams Jr.; her sisters, Cleo Williams, Dorothy Sneed, Sally Ayers, and Mary Harris; her brother, Leo Williams, who served during the Vietnam War; her children, Leo Walker, Jennifer Justice, and Hazel Watkins; and her grandchildren, Yolanda Gambari, Evangeline Beasley, and Rashad Watkins. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Patricia Mason, Rotherie Watkins Jr., Sharon Watkins, Joyce Watkins, and Virginia Watkins; 11 grandchildren, including her devoted caretaker, Shaniqua Watkins; fourth-generation great-great-grandchildren; her special niece, Donna Brown; and her very special friend, Sandra Ray, who was like another daughter to her, and a host of relatives and friends. Lillian will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love for family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity. Her legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
