Judith May Vega, lovingly known as “Judy,” passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 85. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God whose life touched countless hearts. Judith was born on January 1, 1941, in Elmira, New York, to Edward and Mildred Carlton. In her youth, her family relocated to Mountain View, California, where she grew up and later met the love of her life, Robert Vega. Together they built a strong and loving home, raising four sons: Robert II, John, Ruben, and Benjamin. Judith dedicated her professional life to nursing, serving compassionately in a hospital nursery for over 20 years. She had a special gift for caring for newborns, showing gentleness, patience, and deep love to both the babies and their families. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted Seventh-day Adventist, Judith instilled in her children a deep love for the Bible and a strong belief in Jesus as the Messiah. She lived her faith daily through kindness, service, and unwavering devotion. Judith was also musically gifted and found great joy in sharing this talent with her family. She taught her children to sing and play musical instruments, filling her home with music, worship, and joy. After retiring from nursing, Judith continued her life of service by becoming an emergency care foster mother. She lovingly cared for many babies and young children in times of need, offering them safety, comfort, and affection. In her later years, she opened her heart even wider by adopting two of the children she had cared for, Nathaniel and Valarissa, whom she cherished deeply. Judith’s legacy is one of love, faith, service, and compassion. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her nurturing heart, and her unwavering dedication to her family and to God. She is survived by her children, Robert II, John, Ruben, Benjamin, Nathaniel, and Valarissa, along with many grandchildren, extended family members, and all those whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
