Jerry was born on December 22, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, to Willie Dee Busby and Beatrice A. Gibbs. He graduated from A. Maceo Smith High School in 1980 and accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, a faith that guided him throughout his life. He was a faithful member of Grow in Grace COGIC, where he attended and worshiped Christ.

Jerry found peace and joy intending to his lawn and working on projects around his home, often saying that caring for what God blessed him with was something he valued. His hands were rarely still, and his heart was always full.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, and we rejoice in knowing they are reunited in the presence of the Lord.

He leaves to cherish his memory his five children: Jerry F. Busby Jr., Jimmie F. Darden (Lewis), Derrick F. Busby, Daniel F. Busby, and Jeremy D. Busby; his grandchild, Joshua M. Busby (Persia), whom he lovingly raised as his own; nine additional grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Jerry’s earthly journey has ended, but his spirit rests safely in God’s eternal care. His love, his faith, and his quiet strength will continue to live on in all who knew him.
