Remembering Jackie Yvonne Hardman
Jacqueline Yvonne Hardman was born on April 22, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, to Floyd and Betty Hardman. She received her formal education through Dallas ISD and proudly graduated from South Oak Cliff High School, Class of 1983. At a young age, Jackie accepted Christ and joined East Gate Baptist Church in 1972 under the leadership of Pastor H.D. Reagan. For the past decade, she faithfully served under Pastor Kennedy Young, Jr.
A devoted charter member of East Gate for 53 years, Jackie actively participated in the Youth & Mass Choir, the Pastor’s Supplementary Board, and Sunday School until her health began to decline. Throughout her career, she held positions at Bank of America, Sears Warehouse, and the Movie Trading Company.
Jackie was a true Dallas Cowboys fan—just like her brother Tony—and she wouldn’t let anyone say a bad word about her team. She loved sharing a good laugh with her friends, daughter and sister until tears rolled down her cheeks, always wrapping it up with her signature words, “ooo wee.” A courageous breast cancer survivor, Jackie proudly celebrated 16 years cancer-free. Even through health challenges, she never complained. When asked how she was feeling, her answer was always the same: “I’m alright.” She remained optimistic, finding joy in family time, attending church, and listening to her favorite gospel music. The songs that gave her hope and inspiration included Hold Out (The Sun is Gonna Shine If I Hold Out), It’s Working (Everything is working together for my good, it’s leaning in my direction), and It’s My Season to Be Blessed.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Floyd Hardman; Mother, Betty Jean Hardman; and two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Hardman and Randy Hardman. She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved daughter, Kendra Monique Williams; her Sister, Regina Gail Hardman-Bryant; her Nephew, Marcus Hardman; Great-nephew: Travion Hardman; Aunt) Linda Lewis, (Uncle) Michael Lewis; Special cousins, Sheila and Benita Hardman, God-Sisters, Janet Solomon & Ruth Grove; Special friends, Sonja Jackson, Adrienne Taylor, Javon Williams, East Gate Baptist Church Family and a host of other cousins, extended family and friends.
