Mother Henry Mae Hastings

Mother Henry Mae Hastings, was born to Lucille Baker and Lee Swearingen on December 16, 1933. She attended Clemons Public Schools, Pattison, Texas. She lived and worked in Corpus Christi, Texas where she met the love of her life Jimmie Hastings, Sr. She moved to Los Angeles, California for many years. She moved to Dallas, Texas where she and Jimmie Hastings united in marriage on January 29, 1976.

A virtuous woman indeed that touched many hearts through her praise, worship and service at Greater North Park Church of God in Christ for exceeding 20 years. She became a dedicated member and Mother to True Church of God in Christ where she faithfully served under leadership of Pastor Donald Jones.

Henry Mae was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She began her professional career in Sales yet displayed so much passion and dedication as a Childcare teacher at Penny’s Childcare of Dallas, Texas.

She enjoyed singing and worshipping, gathering and fellowshipping with her family and church community.  She was known for her warm spirit and kind heart.

She was preceded in death by her love, Jimmie Hastings, Sr., and her parents, Lucille Baker and Lee Swearingen. Additionally, preceded by her children, Ronnie Johnson, Larry Craig, Charles Johnson, Jr., Darrell Hastings and Jimmie Hastings, Jr. 

Mother Hastings is already profoundly missed, and her legacy of unwavering faith will forever guide those who had the privilege to know her. She leaves precious memories and a legacy of love with her children, Darrell Swearingen, Sr., Ernestine Hearn (Bobby Hearn) and Shaundee Hastings-Martin (Pastor Howard Martin). Also, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Mother Henry Mae Hastings entered eternal rest on Friday, September 5, 2025.
