It is with deep sorrow, and hearts full of love, that we announce the passing of Gloria Faye Johnson, on May 22, 2026, at the age of 77, in Mesquite, Texas. Gloria was born on February 8, 1949, in Houston, Texas, to Emerson and Snow Ella Bendy. She gave 42 years of her life to education — 6 years with Houston ISD and 36 years with Dallas ISD — and she poured herself into every one of them. Anyone who knew Gloria knew her caring nature, her strong personality, and her big, generous heart. She loved being surrounded by her family, treasured a good shopping trip, and never missed her favorite shows. But it was in the classroom and the community where her spirit shone brightest. Over her many years in education, she touched countless lives by teaching and mentoring students who needed someone in their corner. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Rouselle Johnson; her parents, Emerson and Snow Ella Bendy; her sisters Virginia Ruth Morris, Lottie Marie Bendy. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Kelvin Bendy (Jackie), Roshonda Mosby (Markish), and Kayla Johnson (Jonathan); four grandchildren, De'Andre Jackson( Samantha)Destiney Jones, Major Ervin (KaAhjah)and Kyra Ervin; two great-grandchildren, Kaisley Ervin and Gianna Faye Jackson; her brother, Emerson Bendy Jr along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends who loved her.
