Gary Gene Cook, 68, departed this life on July 8, 2022, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He was born on July 25, 1953, in Mabank, TX to Earnest and Roberta (Redic) Cook.

Gary’s early years were spent in Dallas, TX but he moved to Athens, TX where he grew up and moved back to Dallas as a teen. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Dallas, TX in 1972.  After high school he worked in various industries but later in life began working in the freight industry. Following the closure of a couple of the Freight Lines, he went to work for Central Freight Line as a Forklift Operator where he worked for 17 years before retiring in 2011 due to his health.

Gary was united in holy matrimony to Jacquelyn Overton on December 21,1985 in Kaufman, TX.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and classic automobiles.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Roberta Cook, as well as, his brother, Earnest Cook, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 36 years, Jacquelyn of Dallas, TX; his sons Devin Cook and Kerrick (Alfreda) Wallace of Dallas, TX; his brothers/sisters Donald (Sylvia) Cooke, Robert (Lynne) Cook of Desoto, TX, Brenda Jenkins of Arlington, TX, Wanda Cook of Dallas, TX, Rosemary Cook of Dallas, TX, and Ruby Carol (Rodman) Turner of Dallas, TX. His grandchildren Dazhane Cook, Deizhane Adkins, Amari Cook, Cynthia Wallace, Dmarea Bailey, and Elijah Johnson.  He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
