Emma Renfro

October 14, 1938 — April 28, 2012

Emma Miller Renfro was born October 14, 1938 to Loney and Robert Miller in Sudan, Texas.  She was raised by her Grand Parents (Foster and Birdie Smith) in Marlin, Texas until their demise.  At the age of 9 Emma lived with her mother Loney Lane in Ladonia, Texas.  The family later moved to Quanah, Texas. Emma moved to Ballinger, Texas to live with her Aunt Lillie Miller where she attended grade school.
Emma moved to Dallas, Texas in 1953 and attended Lincoln and Madison High School. She graduated from Douglas High School (Salutorian) in Quanah, Texas.  Emma moved back to Dallas in 1957.  She met James Renfro and was married in 1971.
United with Greater Zion Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev. Miller E. Johnson, Sr.  After his passing, Emma united with New Friendship Baptist Church, Pastor, Rev. Johnny Mc Gee, where she was a faithful member of Mary Ann White Sunday School Class, New Friendship Circle and Singles Ministry.
Emma was retiree of Foley's (20 years) and Bank One (10 years).  She was a member of the NAACP, Dorcus #19 OES, Heroines of Jerico Arthur L. Jackson #483 and Dalworth Golden Assembly #31.  She served as Grand Treasurer for the OES, Past State Associate Loyal Lady Ruler of Texas Council of Assembly, and Past Grand Secretary for the Lone Star Grand Guild.
Emma Renfro was preceded in death by parents Loney Lane and Robert Miller.  Her husband  James Renfro passed October 29, 1993.
She is survied by uncle Mack Smith of Ballinger, Texas, cousin Charlie (Dorthy) Johnson of Dallas, Texas, cousin Connie Adkism of Dallas, Texas, cousin Kenneth (Rose) Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas, sister-in-law Mary Renfro Johnson of Dallas, Texas and a host of other cousins and friends.



Visitation: Friday, May 4, 2012 from 9-7pm at Lincoln Funeral Home.
