Diane (Dinae) Moore was born August 21, 1944, in Terrell, Texas to the parentage of C.D. Moore Sr. and Jewel Lorene Moor. She was the second child of nine children. Diane received public education from the Terrell ISD and the Dallas ISD (Booker T. Washington, the only high school open to black students in Dallas, Texas at that time). New Mount Calvary Baptist Church was her church home in Terrell, Tx. In Dallas, Tx, Diane served God in the choir at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church.
Skills which Diane learned in her job training programs were useful in helping her manage a successful career at the Embassy Suite in Dallas, Tx.
Diane cooked and cleaned where she lived like it was one of her favorite activities. She enjoyed collecting stuffed animals, dolls, and wood knots. She delighted in evening walks until her physical mobility became challenged. Then she found pleasure in evening rides with her partner-in-love (P-I-L), John L. Lister.
Preceding her in death are her daughter, Carolyn King, her parents, Jewel Lorene Moore and C.D. Moore Sr., her Partner-In-Love, John L. Lister, two brothers, Charles Ray Moore and Anthony Moore, Aunt and spiritual mentor, Mrs. Alice Watson, and Aunt and friend, Mrs. Ruby Faye Calhoun.
Diane leaves to cherish her memories, five siblings: C.D. Moore Jr., Gloria Johnson, Carolyn Moore, Larry Moore, and Stoney Moore; and a host of relatives and friends.
“Your life to us was a blessing from God.
May your memory, Diane, be with us forever.”
“The moment we start acting like a blessing, It will start to feel like one”
