Dennis Larry
Martin
Sep 30, 1947 — Sep 1, 2026
On September 1, 2026, the world lost a beloved soul, Dennis Larry Martin. Born on September 30, 1947, in the charming town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Dennis lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his cherished family, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of many.
Dennis was the devoted son of Charles Edward and Miriam L. Martin, and he was shaped by the values and warmth of his upbringing. After graduating from Forrest County Agricultural High in 1965, Dennis embarked on a journey that would see him serve his community with integrity and dedication. He spent 28 years as a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Dallas, where he was respected and admired for his unwavering commitment to justice and safety. His work was not just a career, but a testament to his belief in the importance of serving others.
In 1968, Dennis married the love of his life, Betty Ann Parker in Dallas, Texas. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love and partnership, spanning 50 years until Betty’s passing. Together, they raised three wonderful sons and instilled in them the same values of love, laughter, and dedication to Yahweh that defined their own lives. Dennis and Betty’s home was a sanctuary of warmth, filled with cherished memories and the laughter of family gatherings.
Dennis is survived by his loving mother, Miriam L. Martin, who provided him with endless support throughout his life. His siblings, Roland Martin and spouse Terry Fread, and Linda Kaplan and spouse Mark Kaplan, will forever hold dear the moments and memories they shared with their brother.
His legacy continues in his children: Charles Anthony Martin and spouse Michael Martin, Jeremy Ethan Martin and spouse Misty Martin, and his loving daughter-in-law Amanda Martin. His grandchildren, Jeremiah Blake Martin and spouse Rachael Martin, Destinie Townley and family, Ashlyn May Martin, Jeremiah Daniel Martin, and Cheryl Anne Martin, were the pride and joy of his life.
Dennis was predeceased by his father, Charles Edward Martin, his beloved wife Betty Ann Martin, his son Christopher Bryon Martin, and his grandson Zachary Ward Martin. Though they are no longer with us, their memories live on in the stories and hearts of those who loved them.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the dedicated caregivers and staff at Elara Caring Hospice in Paris, Texas. Their incredible compassion and loving support provided comfort to Dennis and the entire family during this difficult time.
In accordance with Dennis’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life for immediate family will be held to celebrate his remarkable life.
Dennis’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved him.
