Born February 25, 1945. Dennis Jones Alexander began his life in eternity on November 1, 2012.  Dennis was born in Dallas, Texas to Pat and Myrtle Alexander.   He was one of twelve children; Effie, Byron, Herbert, Melva, Margret, Doris, Patsy and his parents preceded him in death.
He received his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District.  Dennis graduated from Lincoln High School in Dallas, Texas in 1963.  He attended Bishop College on a Baseball scholarship.
Most of his early career was spent as a switchman at Southern Pacific.  Later he joined Monarch Paper Company as a paper cutter.  He was also employed as a truck driver for Baylor Hospital and retired in 1988.  His leisure activities included; spending time with his family, working in the yard and watching sports.  He was an avid local and national news viewer. Dennis was very involved in politics and encouraged his children, at an early age, to do the same.  He encouraged everyone he knew to utilize their right to vote and was a volunteer for the Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).
Having been reared in a Christian environment he joined Meadow Hill Missionary Baptist church where he was ordained as a Deacon.   He later became a member of St. Luke?s A.M.E church in Garland, Texas.
Sadden by his loss but left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 40 years, Bevelyn Alexander, Dennis? 7 children, Darryl Alexander, Kametra Henderson, Denise Stoker, Shannon Harris (Iranellia Reed Harris), Cynthia Powell, Rhetta Bobo (Jay Bobo) and Anita Alexander, 14 grandchildren, Brandon, Netysha, Asia, Tony, Heather, April, Keonie, Robin, Regan, Erika, Jace, A-Jana, A?Mani and Larry, 5 great grandchildren.  Also morning his loss are his 2 brothers Jerry Alexander, James Randall, 2 sisters, Sandra Alexander and Reta Alexander, a host a nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
