Clara Sims

Clara Dennis Sims was born August 9, 1923 to the parentage of Chester Dennis and Maybell Turner in Smith County, Texas. She was educated in Smith County schools. She was a loving sister to her 8 brothers and sisters who all preceded her in death.

She met and married the late Pastor James L. Sims and to this union 5 children were born. She united with the Mt. Elam Missionary Baptist Church and served as the church mother until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons: Damon & Archie Sims (Mirna), three daughters: Myra Walker, Mary Reed (Robert) and Emily. 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild Ja'Qualon Burks. And because of the love she shared two special adopted children, Gene Caston and Mable Luckey.
