Obituary

Christopher Robin Newman was born on Friday, August 18, 1972, in Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas to Annie Joyce Newman. He was number one grandchild. From his birth, Chris was nurtured by the presence of his maternal grandparents. Throughout his life he spent a lot of time with them.

He attended Albert Sidney Johmson Elementary School as a participant in the talent and gift program and WE Grenier Elementary School. He graduated in 1990 from the “Art Magnet High School” known as today the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. He was very creative in many genres such as sculpture, white and black photography and still life painting. He would sometimes come home with money. Asking and drilling him with questions. hey, where did you get the monies from at school? He would show proof of purchase receipt where some local businesses would have purchased a piece of his work.

Chris enjoyed gaming, computers, new electronic gadgets plus building computers. All though, Chris was tall person who loved to skateboard during his early years. He was avid reader throughout his life. Chris loved to cook new recipes and shared the meal with friends and family,

He was baptized at New El Bethel Baptist Church at early age. He served as usher under guidance of Sis. Ruby Campbell.

Chris took his last breath at hospital where he was born on Friday, July 31, 2026. I sat at his bedside witnessing his last breath with my eyes full of tears and giving thanks to the Lord for the pain and suffering that has ceased. Yes, he was no longer part of living. He will be here in the spirit and in my heart forever.

Christopher leaves to cherish in his memory: His mother, Annie Joyce; 2 Uncles- Marshall and Mike Sr and his cousins; Malecia and her sons; Zeke, Devin and Mikhail; Mike Jr and his family; wife-Brittani; daughter-Za’Niyah; son-Cameron, one great aunt and host of cousins and other relatives
