Catherine Meyers

Catherine Elizabeth Meyers (76) was born November 9, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas. On Wednesday March 20, 2019, the Lord called her home.

Catherine was the first child born to Bertha Pyburn and Ollie Pyburn. The family joined the St. John Baptist Church, here in Dallas, Texas, where Catherine, as a young girl and teenager was a member of the church choir. Catherine attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School (Dallas) in 1961.

On September 8, 1961, she married her high school sweetheart, Melvin Meyers. They were married for 58 years.

Preceding Catherine in death were her parents, Bertha and Ollie Pyburn and her sisters Florrie Anne Pyburn and Helen Majors.

Catherine leaves to cherish precious memories, husband, Melvin Meyers, sons, Melvin Christopher Meyers, Ollie Lee Meyers (Charlotte); daughters, Catherine Marie Meyers, Bertha Diane Givens (Clint) and sister Alice Pyburn-Phifer. She also leaves 6 grandchildren Brianna and Haley (Bertha), Jonathan, Allison, Oliva, and Matthew (Ollie), loving nieces, nephews and many other family members.
