Bonnie Proctor

March 15, 1928 — February 26, 2013

Missionary Bonnie F. Proctor, R.N. was born on March 15, 1928 in Mexia, Texas, to the parentage of the late Dr. William M. & Catherine Harris. She received her formal education through Booker T. Washington High School after which she obtained a degree in Nursing, whereby she was one of the first African American females to be employed by Baylor University Medical Hospital for 30 years.

Upon accepting a calling from her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, she pursued an interest in Theological Studies. The studies encompass a Diploma in Theology from the Inter-Racial Baptist Institute, an extension Department of Bishop College; Certificate in Religious Education, a Seminary extension Department of the Southern Baptist Convention, and additionally receiving a certificate in Ordination, including the authority to perform marriage in conformity with State Law. She attended the Voice of Prophecy Bible Correspondence School, and received a diploma in the Prophesies of Daniel and Revelation. Moreover, she received her Evangelist License from Church of God in Christ, Inc.

Among her many accomplishments, she was the first African American female appointed as PTA President at W.A. Blair Elementary School. In addition, she received a honourable statuesque for Mother of the Year from the Dallas Urban League. She was a member of the Heroines of Jericho, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars. She was appointed by State Mother Emma Barron as the Texas Northeast First Ecclesiatical Jurisdictional Registered Nurse President at Saintsville C.O.G.I.C.

Mother Proctor worshipped at Lighthouse C.O.G.I.C., where she dutifully served as a faithful member in the following auxiliaries: Deaconess, Missions, Nurses Unit, and the Sunday School Department.

Affectionately known as Ms. Bee, mother was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory; Eric, Regina, Shelia (Angel & Nicole), Judy (William), Reuben (Lisa), D?Andra, Mary (Harold); and a host of relatives, grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, and special friends.
