Bessie T. Standberry

December 1, 1942 — June 18, 2025

Bessie Theresa Standberry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. Leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and Strength. Bessie T. was born December 1, 1942, in Farmersville, Texas (Collin County) to Thomas James (TJ) Hardman and Bessie Helen (Bacon) Riley whom both preceded her in death. Bessie T. adoringly known as "Sue" was the firstborn of 20 children to this Union. Bessie was the epitome of Love, Faith, Resilience and Joy. She always welcomed everyone with her warm spirit extending open arms of unconditional understanding. She directed and guided those she loved with unwavering commitment and compassion, setting an example of Solidity that will live on for generations.

Bessie T. was a hard and dedicated worker. She met Roy D. Standberry (Slim) and married September 16, 1961. He preceded her in death May 22, 2001.

She is survived by her children: Herman, Bonita (Vincent), Jessie Sr, Felicia (Steven), Lisa (Michael Sr) and Jerry (Sharonda), 11 Grandchildren, 8 Bonus Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Bonus Great-Grandchildren, 4 Sisters: Helen, Ruby, Marilyn and Sherry, 4 Brothers: Nathaniel, Matthew, Dwight and David. 1 Aunt: Rosie Lee Alex of Greenville, Texas along with a host of other relatives, extended family and friends.

Her life has truly been a testament of Kindness, Strength and most of FAITHFULNESS. She has provided us so many life lessons that will continue to shape our lives. Our comfort is knowing her soul has found eternal peace as she is now resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior-Jesus Christ!
