Bertha Mae Polk was born June 8th, 1933, in Dallas Texas to the parentage of the late Roy Polk Sr. and Ella Mae Polk, she is the last of four children. Bertha was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. She graduated from Booker T. Washington. She was employed twenty-nine years at the Saint Paul Hospital after which she was employed with a “Beautiful and Wonderful” Person Mrs. N.B. Clinch for over twenty years. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Rice Chapel A.M.E Church for many years. Bertha entered eternal rest Sunday May 24th, 2026. Preceded in death by her father Roy Polk Sr., mother Ella M. Polk, brother Roy Polk Jr., sister Dorothy Polk and brother Andrew L. Polk. Those who are left to cherish her memories are two nephews Dr. Paul L. Polk (Dorothy) Carlson California and Kenneth D. Jones (Aldean) Dallas Texas. And a host of other relatives and friends.
