Minnie Craig

August 25, 1945 — March 13, 2022

Dallas, Texas

Minnie Louise Nobles Craig, 76, passed away at her home on Sunday March 13, 2022. She was born August 25, 1945, daughter of the late Elmo Nobles and Alvis Jones Nobles.

Minnie received her early childhood education in Dallas Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School where she was crowned “Miss Lincoln 62/63”. She later attended college at Lincoln University in Jefferson City Missouri.

Early on Minnie married her high school sweetheart Anthony Lee Lowery. To this union a son was born, Anthony Jemahld Lowery. Raised in the church, Minnie professed Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas Texas. She later joined Concord Baptist Church where she was an active member of several grow groups, bible study groups and the hospitality committee.

Minnie began her career at AT&T (Southwestern Bell) in telecommunications as a Telephone Operator and quickly moved up the ranks. Minnie’s keen communication skills then led her to a 28-year career in telecommunications and hospitality with Trinity Industries where she recently retired in 2019. Her love for fashion also inspired her part time employment at Macy’s (Southwest Center) where she also retired after 10+ years of service.

In her spare time Minnie loved painting, reading, decorating, and shopping… especially for shoes! Minnie had a great sense of style and wore a beautiful contagious smile that she kept no matter what she was going through.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Charles E. Craig. They were married 25 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved son Anthony Jemahld Lowery, stepdaughter Anissa (Walter) Totten, stepson Justin (Bonnie) Lowery of Atlanta, GA, and her goddaughter Abc LaJuan Harris of Dallas, TX and three very special friends, Brenda Fagan, Johnnie Mae Rand, Saundra Smith and a host of extended family members, relatives, and loving friends.

Minnie’s kind heart and compassion for others will surely be missed.

God looked around his garden- And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth- And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you -And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough – And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids – And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.
